Welp. Without my bulletin board, red string, and a corkboard big enough to qualify as a fire hazard, I would not have survived this book. This wasn’t a mystery — this was a full‑blown relationship spiderweb with a body count. And the unravel was for the ages. I’m proud to announce that for the first time in my entire reading career, I guessed the culprit… and I’m still giving it 5 stars. Growth.

In other words: library, bookstore, Amazon, a shady trunk sale behind a Wendy’s — I don’t care. Acquire this book.

The characters? Messy. Chaotic. Scandalous. Honestly, we need a word that’s more scandalousy than scandalous. Scandalousier? Scandalous‑adjacent? Scandalous to the power of ten? Whatever it is, these people qualify.

Alright. Spoilers incoming. Grab a snack.

Lauren

Stealing your dead roommate’s book idea and making millions off it? Bold. Morally questionable. Peak “girlboss but make it felonious.” And now you’re broke? Cosmic justice. Also, Georgie ruining your rented dress was the highlight of my week. But plagiarism is still less awful than murder, so congrats Lauren, you’re only medium‑shitty. 2 stars.

Dan & Georgie

Dan: I said it before and I’ll say it again — sir, you may exit stage left and never return. –1 star. Georgie: My girl. My queen. My patron saint of Finally Dumping Him. She found her spine, her voice, and her freedom. I salute her. 5 stars for Georgie’s glow‑up.

Alex (and the Podcasters)

Alex’s big reveal? Snooze. Being married to one of the podcasters made him the least fun suspect on the board. If he’d turned out to be the murderer, we could’ve had a moment. But the podcaster twist? That was tasty. 3 stars for the Podcast Plotline.

Maddie

Oh Maddie. Sweet, quiet, people‑pleasing Maddie. The kind of girl who apologizes when someone else bumps into her. Of course it was you. Did I see the lover‑turned‑murderer twist coming? Absolutely not. Did I gasp loud enough to scare my dog? Absolutely yes.

Daisy

Ma’am. Did you have to sleep with the entire cast? The whole house? The whole emotional ecosystem? How did you think this was going to end — with a group hug and a chore wheel? Everyone caught feelings like it was the flu. Disaster was inevitable.

Overall, I’m giving this book 5 stars and a bouquet of wilted daisies, because nothing says “this was messy and I loved it” like floral decay.

If you enjoy characters who make terrible decisions, scandalous entanglements, and the literary equivalent of watching a slow‑motion car crash while eating popcorn, this one’s for you.
