Picture this: two completely unhinged trains (our main characters) hurtling toward each other like they’re auditioning for a disaster documentary. One’s puttering along at 50 mph. The other’s flying at 90 mph. The collision? Oh, it’s going to be the kind of explosion that makes meteorologists say, “We don’t cover that.”

In this spectacular trainwreck (said lovingly, with jazz hands), we cling to Naomi’s caboose as her husband pulls off the quadruple‑axel of jerk moves: tricks her into moving out, serves divorce papers with the enthusiasm of a mall Santa, drains her bank account, and immediately upgrades to a hot young girlfriend. Add in judgmental mom‑friends and neighbors who treat her life like a live‑streamed soap opera, and the chaos is already Michelin‑star level.

But wait — adjust your mental image. It’s not two trains anymore. It’s THREE. Because why settle for a simple collision when you can have a full‑scale locomotive mosh pit. I’ll alert emergency services and maybe the National Guard.

And somehow, after all this, Naomi still wants her husband back. I cannot decide if this is devotion or the reddest flag ever sewn. Frieda tends to steer her stories straight into “oh honey, no” territory, so I have a strong suspicion which track we’re rattling down.

And the wild part? We’re still on the top layer of this chaos cake. We haven’t even hit the surprise fillings yet. This book is a multi‑tiered confection baked by someone who thinks “plot twist” should be a contact sport.

Surely one person here is sane. Surely. I have questions. I trust no one. I’m perched cross‑legged on top of Naomi’s metaphorical train with the book in my lap, ready for impact. You, however, may choose to read safely from your couch, far away from the flying emotional shrapnel.
